FAQ
What is the booking process?
You can get in touch with me anytime to discuss your session. I will arrange a non obligation phone call or zoom call to have a chat with you about your session and what you are looking for. From there, if you choose to book me, we will book in your date and I will send you a contract and questionnaire to fill out. Once you have signed the contract and paid the non refundable deposit of £50 you are booked in. Final payment is due before your booked date and that is it.
When will I get my images?
I aim to get your gallery of digital images to you as soon as possible, however I do say to allow 4 weeks. I will always communicate waiting times with you when booking and planning your session and will also let you know if there are any reasons the images will take longer.
Will there be a second shooter?
Occasionally I will have a second shooter in the form of my husband who is also passionate about photography. This is at no extra cost and is not reflected in any pricing as it is not always able to be predicted for your date.
It is simply an extra surprise if it happens.
How will I receive my images?
You will receive an email or text with a link to your online gallery along with a unique password. You will need to provide the gallery with your email and the password to view your images, from there you can download your high resolution digital images and save, use and share them as you wish. There is also a shop to purchase professional prints from a trusted lab if you would like.
You can share your gallery with friends and family members simply by sending them the link and password, they will need to enter their own email addresses.
Do I have to order prints through you?
No you do not have to order your prints through me, you can use your own preferred company using the digital images included in your price. However if you choose to print your images I am not responsible for the quality of those prints as I am confident in the quality of the high res image I have sent to you.
What shall we wear?
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and like you. I don't tell you exactly what to wear, because I want your photographs to reflect your personalities and style. If you would like some advice leading up to your session, I am more than happy to help.
Neutral tones and soft colours often photograph beautiful, but don't worry about everyone matching, coordinating outfits with a similar palette works best. Avoid large logos or very bold patterns that can be distracting. Think layers, textures and clothes you can move in, so that you can feel relaxed and natural in front of the camera.
My biggest advice is Empty pockets, take off smart watches and make sure your accessories are as you would want them. For a delicate necklace it can be a good idea to use a small amount of eyelash glue to hold the pendant in place.
What if my children don't cooperate?
Please don't worry, I am a mum myself and before that I was a teacher. I never expect children to sit perfectly still or smile on cue (in fact I prefer when they don't). My approach is relaxed and playful, following their lead to capture genuine moments and real personalities. Sometimes the unexpected, running, exploring or even pulling faces make for the most wonderful meaningful photographs. Our sessions are usually around an hour and so that is usually plenty of time for them to give us some beautiful moments.
Bring some toys, bubbles or snacks if you think it will help. family photographs are not about sitting still and fake smiles, they are about real moments.
What if the weather is bad for our outdoor session?
If the weather really doesn't cooperate we can chat about an indoor alternative, and if that is still not possible then we can simply reschedule.
That being said, a little rain doesn't have to stop your session, umbrellas, wellies and puddle jumping with cosy hugs in the drizzle can make for some really memorable photos.
Do you photograph weddings?
At the present time I do not shoot weddings but I will update in the future if I start.
What if someone is sick on the day of our session?
If you or your little ones are sick, please try to give as much notice as possible and we can reschedule when everyone is feeling better. I have a family myself and know how these things happen.
Rescheduling is limited to a single occurrence or could incur a fee.
Can I bring my dog?
Please do! Pets are part of the family too and I am more than happy to have them along for your session. Please do always let me know before the session that pets will be coming too as it will allow me to prepare and give you some tips on getting some lovely photos with your furry pals.
Do you pose newborn babies?
NO I DO NOT FORMALLY POSE NEWBORNS.
however I do photograph newborns regularly. My sessions take place in your home or a location of your choice, capturing the newborn stage in a relaxed and natural way. you can pause at anytime, feed, cuddle or change your baby and I will work around you at your pace. If you would like to include special toys, blankets or keepsakes we can absolutely weave those into your photos.

Can you make me look skinny?
I don't alter anyones physical appearance, your photographs are about celebrating you and your family exactly as you are in this moment. the only edits I may make are for small temporary things like a blemish. You are already perfect just as you are and I want your images to reflect that truth.
